At midnight tonight, my 72 hour water fast will commence.
I am doing this for a number of reasons,
a. it is incredible for cleansing your body,
b. the metabolic results are incredible enough to burn 1 lb of fat (equivalent in appearance to 4 sticks of butter) off of your body each day while moderately active,
c. i enjoy the rush that arrives upon biting into the first apple in 3 days, or crunching on the first carrot in 72 hours.
This is not 100% for weight loss purposes. I have fasted many times before but never for 72 hours. I think this will be a good test of my body’s adaptability capacities as well as for boosting my immune system…. the weight loss is just an added bonus.
My activity level will not alter— still yoga/riding/etc. every day in addition to work.
The only alteration will be an increase in my water intake (from 96 ounces to however much I can stomach— pun intended).
